Kids can now win prizes by registering their outdoor adventures! Using the Kids in Park program, kids can take a prescription from their doctor to go hike the trails in Western North Carolina and win prizes. There are more than nine Track Trails marked with a trailhead sign in the Buncombe, Henderson and Transylvania Counties, but the program is available using any trail or backyard in your area.
The Kids in Park Program is a collaboration with between the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, Blue Ridge Parkway and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation. This program was created in an effort to get kids and families “un-plugged”, outdoors and reconnected to nature for both their health and the health of our parks and public lands. Come by the office or ask your doctor for more details on how to participate in this program.
