Whether you're looking to keep kids entertained ot simply want to spend some quality time with your children, creating crafts together is a fun project for everyone included. You don't have to be a professional artist to tackle any of these seasonal crafts, all you need is basic supplies you may already have around your home and a clear workspace!

1. Halloween Candy Wreath. This is a fun project especially because Halloween is the first holiday of fall and can really help settle you into the season. To do this craft you'll need an assortment of old-fashioned candies, a 14-inch foam wreath form, a hot glue gun, and a yellow piece of burlap for a bow. Attach the candy to the wreath form with the hot-glue and layering it ontop of each other. After you've finished attaching the candy, and the glue is dry, use the yellow burlap to tie a bow wherever you wish.

2. Ruler Organizer. This is a great one for school age children who may need help organizing their homework due dates, notes from friends, or other reminders. To do this project, you will need an old ruler, clothespins, a hot glue gun and paint in their choice of colors. To start, put dabs of paint on the ruler where they want to put the clothespin hangers. Work quickly before it dries, and place the clothespins on the dabs of paint and press down to affix them. Let your child paint the clothespins in any shade they like, let the project dry and then hang it to the wall above a desk or homework area in their rooms!

3. Cotton Candy Monsters. For small children who enjoy playing with their food, this food craft is sure to be a hit and make a great cupcake topper! Since this is a more detailed craft, please click here to be redirected for specific directions and a tutorial!

4. Pumpkin Apple Stamps. This is a fun little project for pre-schoolers and toddlers. To create this project, you will need to slice some apples in half, gather up orange paint (or any color paint your child likes!), a pack of googley eyes, pipe cleaners in brown and green (or any color your child prefers!) general liquid craft glue (not hot or stick glue), and thick paper or cardstock. Take your cut apples and let your child dip them in the paint color of their choice and then let them go crazy decorating their "stamps" with googley eyes, pipe cleaners, pom poms, etc.

5. Pressed Plant Bookmarks. If you have middle-school or high-school aged children, this is a great project for the bookworms in your life and can also be given as gifts. Before the weather cools too much and flowers and interesting plants can still be found, take a walk and pick up your favorites so you can press them. Due to this being a more complex project, please click here for further instruction and tips!
