No matter how your family celebrates spring, dyeing eggs is a great way to mark this time of year. This Easter, try dyeing your eggs naturally. Dyes in store-bought kits can cause stomach upset if swallowed, and natural dyes are very easy to make — if you can boil water, you’re all set! The following receipe uses ingredients you probably already have on hand in your kitchen. Have older kids help chop veggies; younger kids can add eggs to the water once it’s cooled and rub them with oil to make them shiny. Use this all-natural receipe to get hoppin' on creating beautiful, dyed eggs!
Raising kids can be one of the most difficult jobs you’ll ever do. If you feel like you’re getting nowhere with discipline, wonder why your child “acts out,” and wish you had a stronger connection with her or him, you’re not alone — we’ve all been there!
Smart Start and The Family Place of Transylvania County are here to help! Beginning Tuesday, February 9, they’re offering a Circle of Security Parenting Program (COSP). During the program, you’ll discover ways to build a stronger relationship with your child, help him or her grow in confidence, and help you be a stronger, wiser, and kinder parent, so both you and your child can experience long-term success in your relationship.
By popular demand, the Family Place has brought back the Grandparent Chat, a service focused on helping grandparents that are raising their grandchildren. Childcare is provided and the program is free and open to all!
Come meet other families that share your situation. Find resources, make connections and celebrate strengths! Click the PDF link below for time and contact information.
