On January 12, 2022, an open letter was issued by the North Carolina Healthcare Association encouraging people to get their Covid Vaccines.

In the letter that was reviewed by multiple medical professionals including doctors and nurses, it was indicated that many hospital beds are being filled by those who have become infected with the virus and are not vaccinated, putting a strain on an already slim workforce, noting the disparity between the vaccinated and unvaccinated as being truly "heartbreaking."

Many people have been turned away for other emergencies unrelated to the virus but still need urgent medical attention, and are unable to receive care due to the hospitals being at capacity not only for beds, but ventilators as well.

NCHA urges the community to get vaccinated so that we may put an end to this virus once and for all.

It is with great respect and admiration that we announce that after 40 years at Hendersonville Pediatrics, Dr. Wells has decided to retire.

Dr. Wells has been an integral part of Brevard and Hendersonville Pediatrics' past, present and will remain to be in the future. He has ensured us that we will still see him bringing in the mail, tilling his garden, and stopping in for a good laugh every now and then.

While our staff and patients will miss seeing him daily, we are excited for him to go on to other adventures and enjoy his golden years!

Dr. Wells last day will be March 31, 2022.

We invite patients to send thank you notes, and other words of encouragement letters via snail mail! For information on where to send physical notes, please click here.

Hendersonville Pediatrics is now offering the COVID-19 vaccine to all patients 5 years of age and older.

To schedule an appointment for your child, please call our office.

If your child has an upcoming well check or medication visit, you are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to have your child vaccinated. There will be no need to make a separate appointment.

Remember, the COVID vaccine can be administered in conjunction with other vaccinations. All of our doctors recommend children ages 5 and older be vaccinated in order to provide strong protection against COVID-19 infection and to help limit the spread of it.

The COVID vaccination is a two-shot series administered at least 21 days apart. Henderson County Health Department is also offering free COVID vaccinations for 5 and older, should you choose to go there instead.

Ronald Buell, physician assistant at Hendersonville Pediatrics recently announced his departure from Hendersonville Pediatrics. He will also refrain from practicing pediatric medicine so that he may spend more time with his family and attend to his growing private consulting business.

For the past 28 years Ronald Buell, P.A. has been an integral team member at Hendersonville Pediatrics. Ron arrived to Hendersonville Pediatrics in 1993 when he joined Dr. Ora Wells, the county’s first and only pediatrician at the time.

Ron and Dr. Wells worked tirelessly seeing patients presenting for care in the office, in the hospital emergency room and in the patient’s homes. The Hendersonville Pediatrics Brevard Office located on the campus of Transylvania Hospital, has grown to include 5 pediatricians.

Please join all of us at Hendersonville Pediatrics in thanking Ron for his outstanding service to our community. We wish him future happiness and prosperity in the years ahead!

Thanks, Ron!

Join our very own Dr. S on Monday, October 11, 2021 for a virtual workshop "Parenting the Positive Discipline Way!" We hope to see you there!
